Lunch with Manu in Noosa

One of the many things I love about Noosa is the number of food personalities that are attracted here for their cookbook launches. Berardo’s Restaurant & Bar does an excellent job at hosting these, and today was no exception with Australia’s best loved French Chef Manu Feildel launching his latest book “French for Everyone”.

Where is the sauce?

After a recent trip to his homeland, Manu was inspired by a way of life that values the quality of food and the importance of sharing it around a table each day. “I want to encourage people to enjoy cooking and sharing great, inexpensive easy-to-prepare meals with family and friends. Cooking should be celebrated as an everyday thing”. In this book, Manu shows you how you can easily enjoy cooking French food at home every day.

Today’s lunch was a three course meal from “French for Everyone” prepared by the excellent chefs at Berardo’s:

What’s not to love about such a menu? All was delicious, but my favourite was the Côte de Boeuf, mouth-wateringly tender with plenty of sauce! As a picture paints a thousand words, I’ll let the photos do the talking:

You never know what these TV chef-personalities are like in real life, but I have to say that Manu was extremely personable and down to earth with a great sense of humour. Never one to miss an opportunity to meet a good chef, after purchasing Manu’s latest book (and 2 of his other books, I can’t help myself…) I joined the book-signing queue and was rewarded with this lovely photograph:
