Wines Set to Sparkle in Noosa

Australia’s premier food, wine and lifestyle event, Noosa International Food and Wine Festival, is bringing the best of Australian and international wines and winemakers to Noosa for a four-day celebration May 15-18 2014.  The Festival boasts a spectacular program dedicated to experiencing the best in Australian and international wines, with a diverse range of all key winemaking regions in Australia present at this year’s event alongside a sprinkling of Champagne and Italian varieties.

More than 80 of Australia’s best winemakers and wine authorities will come together for a series of truly world-class wine experiences and master classes hosted by Aaron Brasher, Peter Forrestal, Ken Gargett, Tony Harper, Tony Love, Bernadette O’Shea, Peter Scudamore-Smith MW and Tyson Steltzer.

As the Festival continues to grow and evolve, new exciting events such as the Champagne breakfast in the Qantas Beach Marquee is set to make this year’s event sparkle.  Cocktails are another hot item on the menu with the Suntory cocktail matching dinner and the Suntory cocktail competition on Noosa Main Beach with six of Australia’s hottest bartenders; both on Friday May 16.

Aaron Brasher, Wine Australia’s Regional Director, Ed Carr and Tyson Stelzer will guide festival goers through the intricacies of Arras sparkling wine on Sunday May 18. Featuring a separate tasting of each of the individual components of sparkling – chardonnay, pinot noir and pinot meunier, concluding with a tasting of the final blended finished wines – blanc de blanc, rose and brut elite.

Also Aaron Brasher, Chris Tyrrell and Peter Forrestal will educate festival goers about Australia’s varietal shiraz from leading Australian estates and explore how good shiraz improves with age.

Noosa provides a truly unique opportunity for people to meet and interact with their favourite winemakers. The Village Wine Marquee serves as a communal talking spot for Australia’s best wine maestros who will discuss and share their knowledge with the audience.
