Lime Ice Cream

Limes are in season, it’s humid and too hot to cook, so what’s a Noosa Foodie to do? Make Lime Ice Cream! This tangy, refreshing ice cream is not only extremely delicious but super-simple to make. An ice cream maker is a useful appliance to own if you enjoy homemade ice cream, and you can pick them up inexpensively from department stores and electrical retailers. For those of you that don’t own an ice cream maker, I’ve included alternative instructions in my recipe (it will require a little more work). Regardless, your efforts will be well rewarded!

Recipe: Passionfruit & Lime Butter

Noosa Foodie loves seasonal cooking. On the Sunshine Coast we are currently enjoying an abundance of late summer fruit. My lime tree is full of fruit, and whilst my passionfruit vine is yet to yield, passionfruit are-a-plenty at the Noosa Farmers Market. So when life gives you passionfruit and limes, I say “make Passionfruit & Lime Butter”!

Recipe: Key Lime Pie

Limes are abundant on the Sunshine Coast, and my lime tree at home is currently full of ripe fruit. I’m a big fan of seasonal cooking, so felt it necessary to share my recipe for Key Lime Pie.

This tangy and delicious dessert originates from Florida in the US and traditionally uses key limes, a more tart and bitter lime not easily found in Australia. My version of Key Lime Pie uses regular limes, and is super-easy to make. It’s an ideal dessert for your next dinner party or barbeque as the whole thing can be made in advance. Enjoy!
