Tea on the Terrace

Newly opened and a welcome addition to Gympie Terrace is Metal Tiger Tea Emporium. Specialising in teas from around the world, this teahouse is a new concept for Noosa.

The view from Metal Tiger Tea Emporium

Owners Trudi and Marc are clearly passionate about tea, and have gone to great lengths to source teas which are organic, fair trade and made in small batches by local artisan tea masters to ensure the highest quality products.  Their tea menu comprises over 80 varieties of tea, including Jasmine Pearls, Smokey Earl Grey and Silver Needles White Tea.

Commanding one of the best views on Gympie Terrace, Metal Tiger Tea Emporium is beautifully fitted out, with a wide selection of teas and tea wares on display.

In addition to serving tea, Metal Tiger Tea Emporium offers a blackboard menu should you be feeling peckish. The $10 Yum Cha deal, which includes a pot of tea of choice, a steamed pork bun and two steamed dumplings, makes a terrific light lunch. Coffee is also available.

Their teas are available for sale in their teahouse as well as online at www.metaltigertea.com.au

Nice to see someone doing something a little different in Noosa. Noosa Foodie wishes Trudy and Marc every success with their new venture.

  • Thanks for sharing, Gail. I am a huge tea fan and the yum cha plate looks delicious. I will definitely be dropping in.

I have been to Metal Tiger Tea Emporium and it is fabulous! The finest teas around and the yum cha is delicious. I will be taking family and friends there often that’s for sure. Check out their gorgeous website at http://www.metaltigertea.com.au for amazing fair trade teas, teaware and furniture pieces you will never find locally!

Keep up the great work Tigers!

Went there to eat with 4 of us today. Not very welcoming. We were the only ones there and our food took ages to come out. When it finally arrived our dumplings were cold and the pork MINCE was served with a packet tortilla. We had to ask again for the coffee we ordered because he forgot.

Maybe the tea is good but I would not recommend this place for food. I’d be surprised if this place lasts.

Sorry to hear your visit there was not as pleasant as you’d hoped Brian. I have only ever had positive experiences at Metal Tiger Tea, the food has always been good and the service very welcoming. Perhaps they were having a bad day…

  • Liz:

I have to agree with Brian.
The service can be really crap to be honest.
I was there twice on Monday and both times it was as though it was an inconvience that I was in there and in the kitchen they should be aware that people at the counter can hear them complain about making some food.
I go there for the tea and food though because it is really good. The food however can take upwards of 20mins for a dumpling which is crazy and not sure if its just because they dont really want to be doing the food or because they find having 3 customers in the place “busy”
    Marc is always lovely however.
Would be nice if they could all learn to smile and be nice though.
