Noosa’s Inaugural Ladies Wine Event

Last Thursday evening I had the pleasure of attending the Sunshine Coast’s first Fabulous Ladies’ Wine Society event. Held at the stylish and popular Thomas Corner Eatery, the Noosa Fabulous Ladies Wine Soiree featured a selection of award-winning wines paired with a delectable five-course dinner. Sounds fantastic right? But even better when the wines are De Bortoli and with Leanne Dr Bortoli herself co-hosting the evening and sharing her profound wine knowledge.

The Fabulous Ladies’ Wine Society is Australia’s wine community for women, and provides a fun, feminine and slightly tongue-in-cheek look at the world of wine. And while the tone is playful, the goal is serious – to communicate the joys and nuances of wine to an increasingly interested group of female wine consumers.

Having attended a number of wine events in the past, I have to say that this is one of the best I have been to. The wines were carefully chosen to match the food, and not one but two wines were served with most of the five courses. We at Noosa Foodie LOVE generosity!

Apart from having the opportunity to taste some outstanding wines, I actually learnt a lot about wine, thanks to Leanne De Bortoli, third generation to work in the family wine business. Leanne spoke of her passion for the Yarra Valley,  the wines from that region and gave us some excellent tips for selecting and enjoying wine.
