Konnichiwa Jardin Japonesque!
Tucked away in Arcadia Street at Noosa Junction is another welcome addition to the Noosa dining scene. Jardin Japonesque opened about 4 months ago and is run by Owner/Chef Kisa Juri Kobayashi who was previously a full-time chef at award-winning Wasabi restaurant in Noosa. Serving a scrumptious selection of Japanese dishes at very reasonable prices, this place is exactly what Noosa has been missing!
I have eaten at Jardin Japonesque twice now, and on both occasions received a very warm welcome. In fact, when I dined there for the second time last night, both the waiter and owner remembered us from our first visit – I like that. The restaurant is unpretentious in its appearance but warm and friendly – Kisa told me that she modelled the place after her parents’ restaurant in Tokyo. Jardon Japonesque also offers alfresco dining with inviting white wicker chairs placed outside.
Their menu offers a selection of traditional Japanese favourites, like Agedashi Tofu and Prawn & Vegetable Tempura, as well as a number of creative dishes such as Spanner Crab Sushi Rolls. In addition to their regular menu, there are blackboard specials which change daily.
Last night my dining partner and I opted for the Assorted Otsumami, a beautiful selection of a number of dishes including Deep Fried Salmon (heavenly) and Eggplant with Goma Sauce (divine). We accompanied this with the Soy-Burned Roasted Organic Garlic and Unagi (Japanese fresh-water eel). On the two occasions I have eaten at Jardin Japonesque, the food has been outstanding – fresh, tasty and beautifully presented.
Another positive feature and something Noosa needs more of is that Jardin Japonesque is BYO. The charge is $5 per person, but a complementary appetiser is included in the price.
This restaurant, in my opinion, ticks all the boxes – friendly hospitality, fresh quality food, and reasonable prices with the added bonus of BYO. Jardin Japonesque will undoubtedly become a favourite with locals and visitors alike.

I completely agree, Gail. We had lunch there yesterday and the Unargi was pefectly cooked – so soft and sweet. The white wicker chairs are really comfortable as well as looking good. Congratulations to Kisa on a wonderful new restaurant.
Thank you for your comment Trish. I can recommend the deep fried salmon next time you eat there – it’s delicious! I am sure this restaurant will be a stayer.
